This week’s mail brought a package from Rabbi Where Productions in San Francisco with a limited edition bobblehead that appears to be a salvo in the war over the New York Racing Association.
After opening said box and removing the foam packing peanuts that encased a foam box, I saw the bobblehead of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo atop a horse with a NYRA saddletowl that either is supposed to be about to rear or is propping or is about to sit down.
(Turns out, according to Rabbi Where’s website, this a is a non-partisan attempt to give all sides a laugh and — the site says — raise money for the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund.)
Unintentionally, I believe, Cuomo’s left hand (which is supposed to be above his head tipping a cowboy hat to the crowd) came to me snapped off — Taliban style (see photo). The bobblehead sent to The Paulick Report’s Ray Paulick, in fact, was not dismembered.
Feel free to start a caption contest on the photo (above) of mine.
Did fired NYRA chief Charlie Hayward get to the governor?
I believe we need a blue-ribbon panel to investigate whether the snapping of Cuomo’s hand was a deliberate act and whether it involved a reckless inattention to detail by Rabbi Where Productions, the USPS or NYRA management.
